State Appropriation: $78,000

The Iowa Geological Survey (IGS) is dedicated to advancing the understanding and sustainable management of Iowa’s natural resources. With a mission to collect, interpret, and disseminate geologic and hydrogeologic data, the IGS supports informed decision-making across the state through research, education, and outreach.

Funding will be used for groundwater planning and assessment activities, including mapping the distribution and water volumes of groundwater and quantifying the groundwater budgets of Iowa’s aquifers. Associated expenses will include travel, supplies, equipment use, and drilling equipment.
